Kurtis Clifton, pastor of Maranatha Baptist Church was born in Warren, Michigan. He grew up in Grace Baptist Church in which his uncle was the pastor. His Uncle Max Clifton led him to the Lord during Vacation Bible School in 1990. Upon graduating from high school Kurtis set out to accomplish what he had always wanted to do. Upon this completion, he was left dissatisfied. He came to the realization that his entire life he was telling others what he wanted to be rather than asking the Lord what He wanted him to be. After this realization Kurtis enrolled in Fellowship Baptist College of Indiana in 2003 and it was there he heard the calling of the Lord on his life to be a pastor. During this time, he met his wife, Maria. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Bible from FBCI in 2007. Upon completion, he became the Children’s Pastor at Good Shepherd Baptist Church. Kurtis moved to Jeffersonville, Indiana in 2009. Upon this move Kurtis labored in a local church until 2011. In the spring of 2011 he began helping in a church plant establishing Heritage Baptist church of Columbus, Indiana. In 2013 Kurtis received his Bachelor of Science from Maranatha Baptist University. In October 2016, Maranatha Baptist Church voted unanimously to call him as pastor.
He is excited to serve the Lord with his family, son Ethan, daughters Emma and Ava and wife Maria.
